I’ll post more on where to get the Windows XP drivers for this computer and Gateway® GT5408 Desktop. UPDATE: the main database where the pictures were hosted crashed and gone. The same method also works for Gateway® GT5408 Desktop. The BIOS of the motherboard allows to configure the SATA devices as IDE so that Windows XP installers can detect the drive without having to install the SATA driver first. Since then I have been getting question on how to get Windows XP to recognize the Serial-ATA drive. I posted a little review on this computer in March and mentioned that I installed Windows XP Pro on it.
